Abstract

This study investigated the strategies used to infer mental states from dynamic facial expressions in adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Bayesian analyses revealed that adolescents with ASD are fast and accurate at inferring mental states. They also spontaneously fixate the eyes. Findings imply their mentalising abilities have been underestimated.
