Is It Bigger Now? Focus on Details and Perception of Body Size

We investigated experimentally whether extended focus on details would change the perception of a neutral body part (the non-dominant hand). Eighty-two participants estimated the size of the their non-dominant hand and two neutral objects. The size of the hand after focusing was significantly larger than baseline, but not the objects.
