Abstract

Thirty participants read affective and cognitive persuasive messages describing consumable products and subsequently evaluated these products during functional magnetic resonance imaging. Ventromedial prefrontal cortex activity differentiated between the affective and cognitive conditions depending on individual affective-cognitive orientation suggesting a relationship between its functional properties and the structural matching effect.
