Abstract

What enables gritty individuals to persist in the face of challenges? One characteristic found from 7,209 job candidates is a difference in sensitivity to a negative emotional signal. High (vs. low) grit individuals showed longer reaction time, and less accuracy in recognition of other’s fear expression.
