Age Changes in Lung Function Precede and Contribute to Subsequent Age Changes in Motor Function and Cognition

Abstract
Combined with previous results, these results suggest that a pathway from aging in physical function to aging of cognitive function may start with age declines in lung function, which contribute to declines in motor function, which contribute to subsequent declines in processing speed, which precede ensuing declines across cognitive domains.
