Abstract
How does the psychometric structure of fluid intelligence relate to brain function? We investigated the composition of ability-specific processes underlying fluid reasoning. The results show a differentiation of distinct, but related cognitive abilities by electroencephalography microstates. Microstates characterize rapid ability-specific changes in neural activity structures during complex fluid reasoning tasks.
