Representation of Emotional Events in Bilinguals

Abstract
The present work examined the affective grounding of language in European Portuguese (L1) and English (L2) bilinguals. Overall the results revealed that participants described emotional events more concretely in their native language and more abstractly in L2 suggesting that L1 is grounded to a greater extent than L2.
