Abstract

Automatic imitation has repeatedly been linked to attachment style. We investigate the influence of attachment styles (primary caregiver/ romantic partner) on automatic imitation. Results show no connection between attachment style and automatic imitation. We conclude that previously reported effects are more context specific than anticipated and should be viewed carefully.
