Abstract

This study examined heart rate reactivity during the performance of a cognitive flexibility task with different levels of difficulty. The results showed that, compared to resting state, both parasympathetic and orthosympathetic system activity increased for all difficulty levels. The latter being correlated with better cognitive performance.
