Abstract

The Direction Following Task (DFT) measures attentional-capacity in the expressive language domain. Prior research found that Italian participants scored higher on DFT than English-speaking participants have; suggesting that Italian word-order creates recency effect.
We tested the recency hypothesis assessing English-speaking adults with standard DFT and DFT mirroring Italian word order.
