Abstract

We examined civic engagement in a sample of 124 Muslim American adolescents using a social network approach. Subjects with more central network positions were less likely to discuss politics with their peers and reported less civic engagement. Furthermore, identity strength and network size, not network position, predicted greater civic engagement.
