Abstract

Prospective memory (PM) refers to memory for future intentions. We compared the roles of cue specificity and task-appropriateness in Focality—whether an intention is in or outside of a participants’ focus of attention. The predicted PM performance patterns were found in a semantic context, but not in an orthographic context.
