Abstract

The current research shows that life history strategies moderate the impact of stress by boosting the tendency for hedonic consumption. Building on a key assumption of stress sensitization theory we demonstrate asymmetrical effects–mild stress levels affect behaviors of fast strategists but not that of slow strategists.
