Abstract

We examined borderline personality disorder (BPD) and PTSD symptoms in 110 women undergoing residential treatment for BPD. Cross-lagged panel modeling with random effects indicated improvement in both BPD and PTSD. Changes in PTSD symptoms prospectively predicted changes in BPD symptoms, but the reverse was not true. Clinical implications are discussed.
