Abstract

The qualitative study was conducted with 45 Hindu, Muslim, and Christian college-going youth about religion and religious tolerance.Religion,a public and private matter,had positive effects on psychological well-being.Trust (sraddha, vishwas) in God was critical to overcome personal challenges.Education, friendships across religious boundaries and family socialization encouraged religious tolerance and social harmony.
