Abstract

The current research investigates whether family function is negatively related to externalizing problem behavior which would be mediated by self-control. 700 Cantonese adolescents participated this study. Results showed that self-control mediated the relationship between family function and externalizing problem behavior;the mediating model was invariant across developmental period and gender.
