Abstract

This study examined effortful control, impulsivity, and self-compassion as predictors of mathematics achievement of fourth-graders and if there were gender differences. Results showed that self-compassion as the only significant positive predictor of math scores. Self-compassion played an important role in influencing mathematics achievement of students regardless of their gender.
