Abstract

Political orientation, ideological fit, general diversity attitudes, and attitudes about specific types of diversity were collected. Political orientation predicted preferences for broad diversity (liberals rated diversity more positively). There was an interaction between individual and community politics: high ideological fit predicted significantly less tolerance for specific diversity than low fit.
