Abstract
Despite the recent emergence of literature establishing the prevalence of childhood depression, research has failed to provide insight in its concomitant factors. This study makes use of a cross-sectional design with 274 children aged 8-12 years. Mediation models found that there was a significant direct effect between depression and BMI.
