Abstract

This research empirically investigates the effect of young adolescents’ interdependent/independent self-concept on their personality traits which affect their luxury consumption. Structural equation modeling shows mixed results giving interesting insights on the perception of the need for uniqueness and status-seeking for how young individuals of a collectivistic society make choices.
