Abstract

Regulatory focus and self-determination are two motivation theories widely applied in health intervention research, but always independently from one another. In contrast, we propose they should be considered together. In three studies, we investigated how self-determination motives to act upon one’s nutrition interact with regulatory focus to predict health intention.
