The 360° Moving Image Stimuli Set: Measuring Spatial Distance with More Psychological Realism

Abstract

The majority of spatial distance stimuli are static and thus not applicable to mirror dynamic interactions. We present highly standardized footage of real persons walking towards participants using a head-mounted display in VR. Two validation studies showed how the variable optimal distance is chosen depending on facial expression and attractiveness.
