The Redemptive Eye: American and Spanish Journalists Narrate Natural Disasters Differently

Abstract
Previous research suggests Americans narrate difficult events more redemptively than people from other countries. We test whether American and Spanish journalists (N=56) narrate tragedy differently. We find that American news outlets include more redemptive themes in their articles about a number of major natural disasters from the last ten years
