Stress and the Eating Behaviors of Adolescents: A Daily Diary Study

Abstract

Analyses investigated associations between daily stress and unhealthy eating behaviors in adolescence. Hierarchical linear models showed that greater perceived stress and a greater number of daily stressors predicted a range of unhealthy eating behaviors on a daily basis, including more frequent cravings for unhealthy foods, restrained eating, and emotional eating.
