Analysis of Conceptual Metaphors in Yoruba Traditional Texts

Drawing insights from the framework of Conceptual Metaphor, I investigate how metaphors function in Yoruba texts to achieve effective linguistic communication. From the data analyzed, I argue that metaphors behave uniquely in Yoruba linguistic context where they are configured by sociocultural psychology of the speech community.
