The Critical Role of Attentional Control in Education

Whereas external attention involves selecting information coming through the senses, internal attention – much of cognition – entails regulating our internal mental life. Using two recent lab studies, we illuminate the crucial roles of external and internal attention – emphasize the importance of attentional control – in educational contexts.
