Exploring Associations Among Ethnic-Racial Socialization, Racial Identity, and Critical Consciousness Among Black Youth

This study explores the mediating role of racial identity in the association between ethnic-racial socialization (preparation for bias, cultural socialization, and egalitarian messages), and youths’ critical reflection of racial inequities within their school system. Findings and implications and recommendations for ethnic minority families and the global community are provided.
