Abstract

Children were presented different stories in which a protagonist decided to play with a peer. In some stories, the protagonist enjoyed the peer’s company. In others, the peer harmed the protagonist. Children's ratings depended on the outcome. They tended to derogate the victim after knowing about a negative outcome.
