Gender Stigma Consciousness and Sex-Typing: A Study of Female Software Professionals

Abstract

The study was conducted to investigate the relationship between sex-typing and gender stigma consciousness among female software professionals (N=133) of India. The study found that women who are sex-typical (conforms to feminine traits and rejects masculine traits) have significantly more stigma consciousness compared to the androgynous and sex-atypical group.
