Abstract

Based on the Self-Determination Theory (SDT), the objective of this research was to explore how mentors’ (more experienced employees) need-supportive/thwarting interpersonal behaviors impacted mentees’ (less experienced employees) mentoring autonomous/controlled motivation, and in turn, their engagement and their turnover intentions.
