Horizontal Collectivism, Self-Objectification and Implicit Dehumanization of Other Sexualized Females

Two studies investigated whether cultural disposition (valuing equality vs. inequality) could be related to self-objectification and implicit dehumanization. Horizontal collectivism (valuing equality) was negatively associated with self-objectification (Study 1) and implicit dehumanization of sexualized women (Study 2). These findings support the applicability of cultural disposition for self-objectification and interpersonal consequences.
