Abstract
Temperament and character traits were correlated to both Internet gaming addiction and health among Swedish adolescents. Among boys, the effect of harm avoidance and self-directedness on anxiety and depression was partially mediated by gaming addiction. Thus, the development of self-directedness might reduce the risk of addiction, in turn, improving health.
