Abstract

Based on a re-analysis of data from the Reproducibility Project (Open Science Collaboration, 2015), studies which include some form of deception have higher rates of replication failure, and this effect survives some robustness checks. I consider some explanations for this phenomenon and what it means for reproducible psychological science.
