Abstract

Two studies explore the Emotional Cascade Model (ECSM) and nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) (Selby et al., 2008). Results suggest that high trait rumination and baseline negative affectivity in women are associated with mood improvements during pain, and that the interaction between the two dimensions may be important in mood regulation.
