Abstract

Cognate facilitation effect in L2 was observed for 40 Spanish (L1) children learning English (L2) in accuracy and ERP amplitudes, during a blocked (L1 or L2) or a mixed (L1 and L2) naming task. Interesting, in L1 this effect was only found in high proficient L2 speakers switching between languages.
