Abstract

Cognitive abilities are usually assessed cross-sectionally under the assumption of stability, but repeated measures assessments provide evidence for meaningful fluctuations. To study this, we introduce and validate a 75-day daily diary measure of paired verbal recall. Immediate and delayed recall showed consistency with moderate daily fluctuations, but no sex differences.
