Abstract

Social norms violations may trigger two classes of reactions: punishment and restoration behaviors. We evaluated these reactions, using a modified Third-Party Punishment Game, manipulating the intensity of unfairness and players’ social identity. Although participants were sensitive to the inequity of divisions, they sought to restore fairness independently of social identity
