The Influence of Communal Activation on Prosociality in Individuals with Different Levels of Narcissism - an Experimental Investigation

We tested whether manipulating person's perceptions of their communion and agency affects their willingness to demonstrate prosociality and how these effects depend on the participant's narcissism. We found that among average and low narcissists a decline in their self-perceived communion caused a decline in prosociality when self-perceived agency was bolstered.
