Abstract
This study created the HBCU Ladder Scale to assess perceptions of the prestige of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Historically White Institutions (HWIs). Results revealed a significant interaction such that Black participants rated HBCUs significantly higher than non-Black participants but no significant difference in the rating of HWIs.
