Psychological Factors of Choking Under Pressure in Musical Performance

This study aimed at determining attributes of “choking under pressure” in musical performance among pianists. Using questionnaires collected from 297 pianists, both factor analysis and structural equation modelling identified 8 fundamental factors and their inter-relationship as well as some specific factors related to musicians’ memory slip.
