Abstract

This study tests a Deviance Regulation Theory (DRT) intervention to increase use of Alcohol Protective Behavioral Strategies (PBS). Participants reported on PBS use and alcohol outcomes for 10 weeks. There were immediate DRT effects on PBS in the positive frame. The effects in the negative frame grew across time.
