The "Light Triad": Developing a Measure of Prosocial Personality Using Empathy, Compassion, and Altruism

Abstract
Empathy, compassion and altruism overlap theoretically, but are rarely studied together. To measure individual differences in prosocial traits, the Light Triad Scale was developed and administered to university students. A Prosocial Orientation factor with Empathy, Compassion, and Altruism subscales was supported. Future studies should further refine and validate the scale.
