Abstract

We tested the relationship between women’s conception risk and romantic outcomes through speed-dating, in which behaviors have real-life consequences. Women at greater risk for conception were more likely to offer men second-dates, but did not rate them as more desirable. Furthermore, conception risk did not enhance women’s desirability to men.
