Abstract
Urban environments are increasingly dominated by high-rise construction, a socioecological phenomenon with important implications for lay theories of power. Seven experiments (N=1,195) demonstrate the bi-directional floor-location and perceived power link. First, perceived power influences inferences about floor-location and related monetary outlays. Second, virtual-reality manipulations of floor locations influence perceived power.
