Abstract
Happiest and saddest autobiographical memories’ emotional intensity decreased over time (i.e., blunted) equally in individuals with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). In contrast, the emotional intensity of healthy controls’ saddest memories decreased more than their happiest. Indiscriminate blunting of emotional memories may contribute to mood dysregulation and the maintenance of MDD.
