Abstract

We coded displays of emotion from interviews with survivors of the 9/11 terrorist attacks 6-months after 9/11 and examined their relationship to PTSD at 18 months.
Fear displays predicted PTSD net of 6-month symptoms, exposure or self-report.
Deficits in emotion regulation may contribute to the maintenance of PTSD symptoms.
