Abstract

We administered the stop signal reaction time (SSRT) task to 25 adults with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) before and after 17-sessions of manualized exposure and response prevention treatment. SSRT scores significantly improved following treatment, as did OCD symptoms. Results suggest that this effective psychotherapy for OCD may involve improving response inhibition.
