Job Stress and Depression Among Migrant Workers in Macau: A Moderated Mediation Model of Perceived Social Support and Self-Esteem

Abstract

We investigated 890 migrant workers in Macau and found that Job stress negatively affects migrant worker's self-esteem, which increased depressive symptoms. Furthermore, compare to migrant workers with low perceived social support, those with high level of perceived social support showed higher levels of self-esteem and less depression.
