The Development of Greed and Fear in a Social Bargaining Game

Abstract

253 children were tested using a modified social dilemma game in which the incentives to be greedy or fearful were parametrically and independently manipulated. Results showed children were sensitive to greed effect at age 7 and their sensitivity was stable across childhood, while 11-year-olds were significantly affected by fear.
