Abstract

Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) can cause mild to severe cognitive impairment and is an important public health concern. We hypothesized that perinatal choline following prenatal alcohol impacts BDNF and rescues incurred damage. BDNF levels were mitigated with choline supplementation. This provides a potential treatment for clinical populations with FASD.
